Which project needs your attention?

Do you know which projects are providing value for money, or need extra resource?

Most of our customers were struggling to aggregate data into anything meaningful, so we have built the Rhythmus Dashboard to provide timely accurate data.

Introducing the Dashboard

Watch our video to find out how our Rhythmus Dashboard enables integration and aggregation of data to provide meaningful metrics.

Rhythmus Rapid Start

Do you know what divisions are consistently delivering well and what makes them different?

Find out how our 6 week rapid start can provide the dashboard to drill down to efficiency, effectiveness and cost of your development projects.

Our UK on-site experts work together with your teams, supported by our flexible nearshore team on Sofia.

Is my offshore/nearshore strategy working?
Are your teams providing high value?
What is the cost of Quality?

We use Tableau as the presentation layer to enables us to create role based graphs to drill down. The dashboard allows feedback and analysis on the roadmap, for example measuring quality of requirements, can improve team efficiency. Common requirements can then be set such as naming standards to improve consistency and clarity.

Agile encourages us to be transparent in our processes and inspect what we do and adapt it where necessary. However we were finding maintaining the transparency across multiple projects was labour intensive with a discrepency of information available. We set out teams out to build the dashboard project. Integrating and aggregating the pipeline tools into a BI dashboard that can deliver timley accurate data.

“The Rhythmus Dashboard gives insight on what to change the confidence to know what has worked”

Head of Delivery

We established a common canonical data form, bringing the data together from multiple tools such as Jira, Jenkins and Sonarqube. Using our best practice and processes, such as ensuring we don’t claim the business value to the story until we are really finished.

Once we had the data collected periodically, we use Tableau visualisation to aggregate project metrics through a unified dashboard.

Our years of experience creating unified dashboards enabled the pitfalls to be avoided and the best practice to be leveraged, creating a dashboard for development projects.

Burndown against Requirements

We use project management tools such as Jira to check burndown against requirements.

Testing the Code

Quality is paramount and our processes not only continously integrate and test our code, but using static code analysers we can ensure code quality.

Using the dashboard we can inspect and adapt the development projects, maintaining transparency and enabling projects to scale.

Meaningful Metrics

The Dashboard enables you to understand your teams and groups of teams, compared with each other. This ensures resource, time and effort is allocated accordingly.

Integrate & Aggregate

Customers often have the tools in place to measure pipeline, quality such as Jenkins, Jira, Sonarqube, however they are difficult to link, aggregate and action, due to different approaches and needs of each team. There are no common descriptions, to check progress or efficiency.

The Dashboard project enables harmonisation of tools and selecting, aggregating meaningful metrics to allow comparison of projects.

In Practice

To collect relevant data you can ask your department heads, but active reporting takes time. You need passive reporting on key metrics, available to all the teams at anytime.

The dashboard enables you to see the aggregated view of progress, quality and cash burn. What needs your attention? you can look at the cost, efficiency and effectiveness of projects and easily see where there maybe issues on BI, Content publishing or sales streams.

Drill Down

The metrics in the dashboard enable you to drill down to each project, check velocity and effectiveness, and then drill down further into sprint level. For example you can see through the reports that lots of new issues have been created enclosed within a sprint. This implies the team has been diverted from building new features to fixing technical debt. The number of red flags may have increased against quality measures, and costs have increases.

All of this has been available before even discussing the issues with the team leaders.

This availability of information provides meaningful metrics, enabling issues to be flagged quickly and resolved more efficiently.

We seek long-term partnerships with growing businesses that understand the benefits of Agile working and are prepared to share their development roadmap with us. This helps us build a better service that capitalises on our own experience, frameworks and investment in good, collaborative staff.

Some customers also want to outsource management of their integration platform. We run Cloud Integration Platforms as part of our service. This means we are responsible for both the software development and the live service, including the cloud platform it runs on.

For some, this is an interim state whilst the in-house team adjusts to new technology or DevOps processes. For others, this is a longer-term investment which frees the in-house team to focus on other, high-value business priorities. We are flexible, and our goal is to support your business in a way that makes sense for you.

We don’t employ salesmen, only delivery experts and software professionals who have seen many integration projects across many different verticals. If we can help, we’ll be clear as to the value we bring; if not – perhaps you are outside our core tech, or your problem is in some way unique – we’ll tell you. Our honest and collaborative approach to managed service is well-established and we are keen to hear about your needs: we love an interesting problem to solve.
